The Foundation is applying for regulatory approvals to receive donations and grants towards its activities, including registration under Sections 12A and 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act, and Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA). The Foundation is also setting up an international tax effective mechanism to receive donations from Martha’s family, friends, well-wishers and supporters from around the world.

In its initial phase, the Martha Farrell Foundation will be supported by Society for Participatory Research In Asia (PRIA) in the following manner:

  • Act as a host for the Foundation in PRIA and provide logistical support.
  • Act as host to receive the donations and contributions made to the Foundation till its regulatory approvals are secured.
  • Disburse funds towards activities of the Foundation as per the recommendations of the Foundation’s Board.
  • Make a donation towards the Foundation’s corpus endowment.

Society for Participatory Research in Asia (PRIA) is a registered non-profit civil society organisation in India under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. It was founded on February 6, 1982. Dr. Martha Farrell was a Director at PRIA.
