IPPR Unit -5 (CR)

Unit 05 : Participatory Methods of Analyzing, Disseminating and Utilizing Knowledge

We will begin this Unit by identifying the processes involved in the analysis of data, and the functions of participatory analysis. Triangulation as an important method will be discussed. We will then go on to understand the various forms through which knowledge can be disseminated, and the purposes of dissemination. An analysis of the difference between dissemination for information and participatory methods of dissemination becomes crucial. The two case studies will help the reader understand the importance of participatory methods in a modern democratic set up.

The objectives of the Module are to:

  • Understand various participatory methods of analysis;
  • Explain participatory modes of dissemination; and
  •  Comprehend the issues associated with utilisation strategies to affect change.
