Unit 02 : Methodological Aspects of Monitoring and Evaluation

Unit 2 will give you an indepth understanding of participatory monitoring and evaluation (PM&E), by introducing you to the framework of Theory of Change (ToC) and its broad categories. The concepts of project management and planning, exploring the project cycle, and understanding the steps for M&E in projectswill also be covered in this unit. Impact assessment is another concept that is of importance and by understanding what makes impact assessment different from Monitoring and Evaluation, we will also be able to conceptualise participatory impact assessment.In the section on organisational strength and institutional learning, we shall focus upon building an organisational environment that is conducive to change.
